Charlie Larouche-Potvin Sondes Dorées@Michael Kazik

Sondes Dorées

These sculptures by Charlie Larouche-Potvin were glass blown using traditional Venetian techniques. The iridescent finish resulted from the use of glass containing reactive metals, which developed its shimmer upon exposure to a low-oxygen flame. Part of a tryptic imagined as a futuristic narrative about the exploration of the otherworldly, the pieces represent probes sent in search of new worlds.
