Echoes of Piranesi

This pairing of a vessel and columnar plinth by Barnaby Ash and Dru Plumb was turned and carved from a single section of oak. The pieces were then charred and eroded by fire, before being polished and repaired with thread. Taking inspiration from Giovanni Piranesi's etchings, the work echoes his classical forms through a raw and contemporary lens.
