This stoneware tea bowl is made from a custom-blended clay body to which Jeff Shapiro has added sand, feldspar and granite stones before sculpting. These natural elements are visible on the surface of the piece. After a first firing in the anagama wood kiln, it is then glazed and fired in a slow electric firing. A copper-rich Oribe glaze finishes the piece.
