This stoneware platter is fired in an electric kiln with a combination of two glazes and salt. It is formed by stretching a slab until the surface expands to reveal the added natural stone and sand that give texture to the clay. The Oribe green glaze fuses with the ash glaze to produce a rich surface contrasted with patches of raw clay.
