Polar

This is a wall relief made from dak mulberry fibre, the traditional material used to produce Korean hanji paper. The white surface is built through the accumulation of hand formed fibre elements. From the front, the relief appears as a series of linear forms, but when light falls across the surface, shadows reveal a 3D landscape. The structure is formed using only water and dak fibre, without glue or additives.
