Tanhwa hap is a lidded tea storage jar (daham) made with the puredogi technique, combining Korea’s hard-pottery tradition with a European salt-glaze method introduced in late Joseon era. Fired in a wood kiln, salt is introduced at peak heat, then heavy smoke carbonises the surface, creating unpredictable patterns.
