Made from English ash, this dining chair combines a gently scooped seat with a tall, curved back formed by slim spindles that taper elegantly to the floor. Frederick Dodson was inspired by the samara, the winged seed of the ash tree, which spins lightly through the air, a movement echoed in the chair’s graceful form. Finished with a traditional Japanese kanna hand plane, the surface is smoothed without sandpaper, preserving the clarity of the ash grain.
