African Glass Masks

These two big masks of African inspiration are made using the technique of glass fusion with black glass and murrine Murano glass bars. Each mask is placed into the fusion furnace twice. The first fusion is carried out at around 800°C, before being entirely hand-engraved with diamond grinding wheels. To finish, the second fusion is carried out at around 650°C to give the work a more rounded shape.
