This sculptural vase is the result of coil pottery techniques and raku firing. Lara De Sio uses a hard to manipulate white semi-refractory clay. After creating a base, she adds coils one on the top of the other. The shape is formed with slip and score, and blending techniques. A long work dedicated to texture and details starts before the drying and first firing at 1000°C. Then the surface is reworked, using a fishing net, before raku firing at 900°C and several smoking steps.
