This custom-made sculpture is created from a series of tiles cast as mouths and has been left in its raw stoneware state. The tiles all start out as a sketch. Johanna then produces clay prototypes, before making the final tiles in plaster moulds, which saves time. Before being fired, the tiles are left out to dry – a process that can take up to two weeks.
Homo Faber Finds is a new service aiming to inspire admirers of craft to connect and collaborate with exceptional artisans.
