Double-walled vessel

The surface of this oval ceramic vessel has been burnished, a technique of decorating the ceramic surface without the use of glazes. The oval vessel is hand thrown from kaolinite clay on a potter's wheel before being fired multiple times. Gabi Ehrminger combines distinctive shapes and the smoothness of pure clay with the lively traces of fire from different wood firings.
