Double-walled vessel

When treating the surface of this dark double-walled vessel, hand thrown from kaolinite clay on the pottery wheel, Gabi Ehrminger burnished the surface, a technique used to polish the ceramic without the use of glazes. She combines distinctive shapes and the smoothness of pure clay with the lively traces of fire from different wood firings.
