Double-walled vessel

The surface of this oval ceramic vessel, hand thrown from kaolinite clay on a potter's wheel, has been burnished, a technique of decorating the ceramic surface without the use of glazes. Gabi Ehrminger combines distinctive shapes and the smoothness of pure clay with the lively traces of fire from different wood firings.
