This one-off ceramic stoneware vessel is entirely hand built using a variety of techniques, such as press moulding, coiling and slab building. The vessel has an added element of surprise due to its double-walled structure, purposefully creating a definite contrast between the interior – that is overtly decorated – and its exterior, which has been kept simple. This contrast has been enhanced with the glazing. The deep blue on the inside is exalted when juxtaposed to a variety of green and tan hues. This vessel has been fired in oxidation at 1245°C.
