Toino Abel’s young team regularly organise basket making experiences in their atelier situated in Coz-Alcobaça. This Portuguese countryside town has a rich basketry history and is the perfect place to spend a weekend learning and improving traditional reed weaving techniques. The workshop is open to all kinds of people, from professionals to amateurs. All they need is the curiosity and motivation to work the reed with their hands. This immersive experience also enables visitors to meet the local community and see the locally-grown reed which is hand picked yearly. The weekend includes a two-night stay and hopefully will become a lifetime memory.
