Idoia Cuesta’s workshop is situated in a former rural school within the biosphere reserve of Terras do Miño, in Galicia. This uncontaminated landscape, a Unesco site since 2002, is peppered with streams, grasslands and forests; a peaceful retreat, far from hectic urban life. On this guided visit, Idoia encourages participants to enjoy the landscape and helps them discover the different willow plantations she oversees. Along the way, visitors will come to understand all the different creative steps within her basketmaking process, from the collection of the willow to the making of a basket or accessory using various different raw materials.
