Visiting a remèr’s workshop opens a new and authentic perspective on Venice: building the special oarlocks and oars for the Venetian Rowing – the asymmetrical rowing style with a single oar – the remèr has a deep knowledge of the city, its structure and history. Internationally renowned Saverio Pastor will share his great experience with the visitors of his workshop located near the Salute, illustrating the story of this craft and the technical meaning of his creations. Participants will also be shown the different phases through which a fòrcola (the oarlock) is being made.
