Visit a luthier’s workshop in Bari

One of the very few violin makers in Italy’s Apulia region, Ester Passiatore invites everyone to visit her workshop to observe the various stages of the construction of a violin. She also builds other bowed instruments, such as cellos, baroque violas and contrebasses. During the guided tour, Ester will showcase to her visitors the different types of wood as well as tools, chisels, gouges, files and perfumes for wood that are commonly used during the production process. Visitors will also have the opportunity to see a small practical demonstration performed by the luthier on her current workpiece.
