Visit a glass studio in London

with Michèle Oberdieck

Discover the Swedish technique of Graal

Based in Bloomsbury, Michèle Oberdieck creates sculptural glass vessels using the classic Swedish technique of Graal, reinterpreted. Enjoy an exclusive presentation of her work and techniques during a workshop tour. The craftswoman will demonstrate the many processes involved before and after a glass piece is blown and how pattern and colour are worked into the piece. You will have the chance to hear Michèle explain how the pattern is cut through the coloured layers of glass, creating a motif using a lathe and diamond engraving wheels, as well as kiln-fired glass. Michèle’s studio is found in Cockpit Arts where many creative makers work side by side.
