Tile making workshop tour near Zaragoza

Next to his workshop, mudéjar ceramicist Fernando Malo has created an interactive space with several activities. Start your visit by watching the film Alfar Mudéjar, which showcases the making of azulejos (glazed and coloured tiles). Then, on the first floor, a guided tour illustrates the reproduction of azulejo geometric patterns, working tools and examples of the flooring in the Alfajería Palace and the walls of La Seo Cathedral, both in Zaragoza. Last but not least, step inside the ceramic workshop to have a go at moulding clay to make an azulejo with the typical 'estrella mudéjar' (mudéjar star) pattern. Upon request, Fernando and his team can fire the tile at a later stage.
