Siyaphambili Multipurpose Cooperative is a women’s weaving collective in Eswatini, where traditional skills passed down through generations are used to create contemporary objects from local natural materials. During the live demonstration at Homo Faber 2026, cooperative member Gcwalizile Zwane Dikiza will create a broom from Lutindzi grass using traditional Swazi techniques. The making process will reveal how a familiar functional object can be reinterpreted through contemporary design while retaining its local material and craft tradition.
