Come Home Again Venice

This tapestry by Bonotto was woven from recycled waste plastic, pure virgin wool and Japanese washi paper on mechanical wooden shuttle looms, using a technique developed in Paris by the Gobelin manufacturer. Concluding the journey through An Island of Light at the Borges Labyrinth, the tapestry was designed by Es Devlin to depict the flora and fauna of our cities. Drawing a parallel between endangered species and rare crafts, the piece presents our home as an interconnected web of beings and cultures, inviting us to remember their names and protect what is under threat.
