This wall panel by Ptolemy Mann was handwoven from ikat-dyed viscose on a dobby loom. Precise dyeing before weaving allowed for feathered transitions, referencing Bauhaus colour theory and Rothko's colour-fields. Challenging conventional art hierarchies by equating weaving to abstract painting, the work focuses on the atmospheric presence of colour, embedding it as an unfolding process.
