Agate

This sculpture by Annetta Kraayeveld was created with hand-spun cords of cotton in shades ranging from purple to white, interwoven with silver filament. Using a ply-splitting technique, the strands were interconnected and shaped into an organic oval. Inspired by an amethyst agate gemstone, the piece evokes the crystalline beauty found within the depths of the Earth.
