The visit to Jacob Chan’s workshop consists of a tour of his main studio that he opened in 2020 and of his kilns. There he will explain his wheel throwing, soda firing and other sculptural processes and techniques, as well as demonstrate the making of a ginger jar on the pottery wheel. During the tour, there will be a viewing of his finished work that explores different heritage and cultural backgrounds and often includes raw materials like sand and broken pottery, with a chance to purchase it before it is either sold or sent to the galleries.
