Régis Floury offers an introductory course to the art of marquetry. The craft of marquetry consists of using of different types of wood to create a composition or an artistic pattern, playing with the different shades of colour. After presenting the evolution of marquetry over the course of history, Regis leads participants through different marquetry techniques (certosina, geometric, incastro and toppo); straw marquetry and Vriz method will also be explored. You will learn how to make colour dyes and drawings for the cutouts, using manual tools and, besides wood, also experimenting with other materials such as mother-of-pearl, vegetable ebony and antler. The Basic course takes place over a two-day weekend, with six hours of teaching each day.

The Intensive course takes place two days a week for one year, with six hours of teaching each day. The fee is 100 euros per month.
