A beginner visual storytelling course in Huarte

with Idoia Iribertegui

Learn to tell a story through illustration

In this course, students will go through the essential steps of preparing an original illustrated album under Idoia Iribertegui's guidance. Each 8-hour session will begin with the analysis of a book related to the theme of the day. Students will explore different authors and examples of composition, visual storytelling, colour, and even cover design, all the elements that contribute to a cohesive final work. Participants will also experiment with various graphic techniques, learning to use them as effective tools for communication. The course will emphasise research, visual storytelling, preparation for final artwork, material experimentation, and the search for a unique and original artistic voice. Throughout the sessions, students and the master artisan will draw, cut, colour, and also discuss, exchange ideas, and engage in lively conversations, within a relaxed and creative working environment.
