French artist David Marmilloud combines traditional cabinetmaking with contemporary techniques to create furniture and handcrafted pieces for artists and designers. His practice brings together woodworking, marquetry and veneer work with digital processes and the development of bespoke mechanisms. During the live demonstration at Homo Faber 2026, David will showcase the different stages involved in creating and finishing a typical furniture piece. He will prepare marquetry backgrounds and a metal armature, demonstrate the application of a thin wooden decoration onto metal, and finish the surface using different abrasives and hardened oil.
