Hands-on tour of olive wood workroom

with Juan Manuel Molina Baena

Learn about olive wood crafting

Master Juan Manuel Molina welcomes visitors to his workshop to explain how he transforms raw olive wood into finished pieces. He will share the entire process, from how he collects, dries and carves olive tree trunks that farmers discard, to how he crafts the completed object. Participants give the finishing touches to some pieces with sandpaper and local olive oil. “The aim of this hands-on tour is that anyone can understand that there is an entire philosophy of work behind olive woodwork. It teaches us great lessons about inner beauty, resilience, gratitude and patience. Being able to transmit these values is very enriching,” says the master artisan. The tour includes breakfast.
