Glass painting masterclass in Riga

with Vineta Groza

Paint glass in a 17th-century workshop

At the Glass Art and Studies Centre, which is located in the historical Mentzendorff’s House, known for its 17th-century glass workshop, everyone has a chance to go back in time and try their hand at the craft of glass painting. The masterclass in glass painting, usually decorating a plate or a vase, invites the participant to recreate a historical replica from the vast collection of glass artworks and the original stained glass examples from the time of Jurgen Helm, who ran the workshop. The glass artist Vineta Groza and her colleagues will get you acquainted with some of the techniques of working with glass, and its unique characteristics.
