A 'behind the seams' visit

M&S Schmalberg invites you to step inside the world of fabric flowers with a behind-the-scenes tour of their atelier in New York City’s historic Garment District. Visitors are guided through row upon row of shelves filled with a dizzying array of artificial flowers in a myriad of colours, shapes and sizes. Hundreds of vintage cutting moulds, along with traditional tools and machinery, have been used in the atelier since 1916. Every step of the flower-making process is explained, and participants will meet the artisans as they demonstrate the various skills involved in creating and completing each bloom.
