Eco printing and dye class in Las Palmas

with Ulrike Güse | Las Palmas, Spain

Eco print your own silk scarf

After a brief welcome, participants will be introduced to the basic aspects of natural dyeing and will visit Parque Nestor Álamo to look for dye materials with weaver Ulrike Güse. A 90 x 90 cm silk scarf is provided to experiment with designing unique patterns with all kinds of natural materials. Leaves, flowers, tree bark and locally sourced cochineal will be used to create a singular, unrepeatable pattern. With the bundle dye or eco print technique, the pigments from the dye stuff will directly be transferred to the textile. A little breakfast is provided prior to discovering the personal creation, a tangible memento of your workshop and stay in Gran Canaria.
