14/09/2026 | 17/09/2026Exhibited in A ROOTED ASCENT
British artist Sean Evelegh uses fine marquetry and mosaic techniques to create intricate compositions from individually cut pieces of wood, drawing on both classical and contemporary design. During the live demonstration at Homo Faber 2026, Sean will hand cut tiles from a selection of wood veneers and assemble them onto a wooden surface to gradually build a mosaic. Alongside the evolving work, a finished table composed of 50,000 individual pieces will showcase the scale and complexity that can be achieved through the technique.
