With Georgia Gremouti

In this practical workshop, Georgia Gremouti will guide you through a presentation of fabric and its relationship to the body. The Greek textile sculptor will begin with a historical review of textiles and the different techniques developed throughout time. “From the single uncut fabric, the ancient Greek Peplon, we will work our way up to Miyake's concept: A piece of cloth.” Participants will learn how the surface is transformed on the body by draping and folding; either following the shape of the body or creating other volumes and reliefs. The garment is treated as a sculpture, which follows the movement. A great experience for those who wish to experiment in fabric work.
