Handmade designer shoes from St Petersburg

The young and exciting St. Petersburg brand Razgulyaev Blagonravova makes handmade shoes including slippers, brogues, sneakers and mules. Its signature collections include slippers decorated with motifs from the paintings of Kazimir Malevich, Salvador Dali, Henri Matisse, Vassily Kandinsky, William Morris and Raphael, as well as collaborations with contemporary Russian artists and designers, including Kirill Ovchinnikov and Konstantin Fedorov. The brand was founded in 2007 by the artisan Lyudmila Razgulyayeva Blagonravova, who studied design at Chelsea College of Art and the London College of Fashion, as well as shoemaking in Venice with Giovanna Zanella.

More than 20 different stages are involved in the making of one pair of shoes. The company's slippers sell in shops at the State Hermitage Museum, the State Russian Museum, the Fabergé Museum and the Jewish Museum in Moscow. For many years, the Malevich collection has remained a bestseller, with the model inspired by Malevich’s 1929 painting Peasant in the Fields being a particular hit.
