Craftsmanship and restoration at the service of artistic heritage

UniSVe, the acronym for Unione Stuccatori Veneziani, was founded in 2001 by a group of artisans. All of them learned their craft under master plasterers Franco and Mario Fogliata and came together to promote and preserve the high-level artistic techniques and Venetian traditions which risked being lost. Museums, churches, the Scuole Grandi of Venice, foundations and historic buildings are where UniSVe operates. Its main activity consists in the restoration and preservation of decorated architectural surfaces, the refurbishment of prestigious properties and the creation of internal and external finishes using traditional methods, materials and techniques.

This collaborative group of expert artisans also specialises in the transport, display and maintenance of works of art and in the creation of museum spaces and installations. The artisanal and artistic workshop where they are based is within an old squero that serves as a meeting place in the city. The space is used to host handicraft, artistic and cultural events as well.
