Weaving

Marrakech, Morocco

Ancestral weaving boldly preserved

Founded in 1995 by Brigitte Perkins in Marrakech’s ancient Medina, Tadert Titbirine revives the nearly lost art of handloom weaving and Moroccan needle embroidery. The atelier preserves classic patterns in bold reinterpretations, bringing together heritage and contemporary design. Under Brigitte Perkins’ guidance, traditional motifs are reshaped to meet the tastes of clients and decorators seeking authentic luxury. The workshop employs skilled weavers, embroiderers and upholsterers who make pieces exclusively to order.

A turning point in Tadert Titbirine's journey was its relocation to Tamesloht, which allowed the weaving workshop to expand its creative freedom. Among their striking creations is a 100-square-metre Sky Carpet, embroidered on fishing nets with hang-gliding canvas ribbons. Tadert Titbirine is committed to the environment and fair trade, which is why they work with natural materials only, such as raw, hand picked organic cotton.
