London-based Sterling Studios creates bespoke decorative finishes for high-end residential and commercial clients. Every project is spearheaded by François Lavenir and Fiona Sutcliffe, founders and directors of the award-winning atelier, and meticulously executed by a small team of skilled artists and craftspeople on a variety of materials, including glass, leather, gesso, wood, canvas and paper. Most of the processes that form the heart of Sterling Studios' practice, such as gilding, painting, antiquing and silvering, are entirely done by hand.

Since its establishment in 2003, the atelier has built an impressive archive of over 28,000 traditional and contemporary designs, all of which are collected in a samples library. This library is accessible to design professionals engaged in developing unique finishes for international projects ranging from private households, yachts and airplanes to luxury hotels, restaurants and retailers. For Sterling Studios, the limit is the imagination!
