Real craftsmanship and finely executed embellishments can be what make a piece of jewellery truly stand out. Silvia Furmanovich Atelier, founded in 2003, is rooted in this approach. The founder, Silvia, who has a strong artistic vein, comes from a family of goldsmiths and began exploring jewellery as a hobby in the late 1990s. Today, the atelier draws on techniques more commonly associated with the decorative arts, such as marquetry, lacquerwork, and miniature painting. These are applied to organic materials such as bamboo, silk and wood, as well as precious stones. Today, the collections stretch beyond jewellery, to include home decoration and sculptural furniture.
What sets the atelier apart is its direct, hands-on work with local craft masters, and Silvia’s deep immersion in their worlds. In Acre, she teamed up with woodworkers to adapt marquetry to a scale delicate enough to be used in jewellery. The atelier has a global soul, shaped by practices learned in person from Japanese bamboo weavers, Uzbek textile makers, and Native American jewellers. Silvia Furmanovich’s pieces reflect long-standing traditions and technical skill, brought together through a distinctive approach to composition that continues to evolve across cultures and materials.
