Seguso Vetri d'Arte was founded in 1937 but it belongs to one of the oldest glassmaking dynasties on the island of Murano, which dates back to 1397. The ethos of the glassworks is to cherish the past, preserve ancient expertise and promote beauty by interpreting the times. In 2023 the manufacturer was awarded national artistic heritage status by the Italian Ministry of Culture. Its creations can be found on all four continents, in the most prestigious museums of contemporary art and glass. Its production reflects the codes of a classic style through an exploration of the historical archives of the family glassworks.
Timelessly elegant vases, bowls, chandeliers and objets d'art in the unmistakable Seguso style are still created in the furnace. Today's masters reinterpret and produce the pieces with artisanal glassmaking techniques such as incalmo, pulegoso, ribbing, twisting and submerged glass, a distinctive trait of traditional production. It is a glassworks that brings together the inspirations of the past and cultivates these in the present for a future that is in constant search for something that does not yet exist.
