Established in 2012, Pichulik is a carries forward generations of jewellery making shaped by resilience and independence. Katherine Mary Pichulik draws from the legacy of her grandmother, Leonora Pichulik, to create garments and jewellery. Leonora arrived to South Africa by boat nearly a century ago, established an atelier and sustained a livelihood through making. That spirit of self determination remains central to Pichulik today.

At Pichulik, Katherine Mary works alongside a team of female artisans who transform rope through techniques rooted in feminine domestic craft such as crochet, knotting, wrapping and weaving. In her jewellery practice, she brings together found objects and unexpected, often industrial, materials. This tension between industry and intimacy defines the atelier’s work. It delivers an enduring sense of alchemy and quiet power, where raw materials are reimagined into objects of strength, symbolism and story.
