Chommies is a Cape Town-based atelier specialising in handcrafted pet accessories. Nathalie Klein began her journey in a garage, creating the rope-based dog accessories, such as harnesses and play toys, that became the Chommies signature. Today, a team of full-time artisans work in the atelier, cutting, painting and gluing every element by hand. Using industrial sewing machines, high-quality thread, custom-designed rope and naturally dyed leather, the artisans produce pieces that mass production could not replicate.

Chommies pet accessories feature leather offcut flowers, brightly coloured rope whipping and shiny brass buckles. Nathalie hires friends and family, which supports trust and accountability while reflecting the atelier's name, a local term meaning 'friends'. The atelier provides employment, skills development and a new model of production based in Cape Town.
