The three brothers of Sevillian goldsmithing

José Delgado García, the patriarch, could rightly be very proud of what his three sons have achieved since 1980. They learned their craft from him, and over years of hard work and commitment, Ángel, José and Francisco Xavier built up an atelier that is now one of the best-known goldsmithing workshops in Seville. Orfebrería Delgado López has an established reputation and solid relationships with many religious brotherhoods across the city, who trust the brothers’ ingenuity and dedication to crafting spectacular devotional pieces.

The materials they work with are gold and silver, together with brass, nickel silver and copper, which come to life thanks to their skilled hands and attention to detail. Once a commission is received, the three artisans begin the steps of the making process: design concepts come first, followed by a life-size sketch. Once approved, each piece is carefully crafted from solid metal, chiselled, embossed, moulded, and finally assembled. Over the years, the three brothers have worked on creating every religious object required for the decoration of a church or pageant during Semana Santa in Seville.
