When asked if there is a limit to creativity, Ilaria Soncini will tell you that the only limit is in your head. Not surprisingly, she embraced a profession that enables her to manifest her visionary imagination in skilfully crafted headpieces. Ilaria’s path was written in her genes: “My mother runs a graphic design business and my father is a tailor and a collector,” she says. “They taught me that the best thing in life is to be passionate about something and to make it happen.” After graduating in art and visual communication at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan, Ilaria moved to Berlin, where she lived for ten inspiring years, working with the likes of French costume designer Odile Hautemulle and Fiona Bennett, Germany's most talented and influential milliner.

The realisation that, after making so many significant experiences abroad, it was important for me to build something in my own country, which has played such an important role in nurturing my love for art and beauty.
Because there was no atelier in Milan that could provide this type of service. Ever since the early 2010s I have worked for the most important designers, from Louis Vuitton to Fendi, from Dolce & Gabbana to Max Mara, as well as for the cinema and theatre industries.
It is a pun between my Christian name and the English term hilarious. Under the name Ilariusss I create my own collection, which I do not market, because it is purely a statement: the way in which I express myself and my vision.
There are three of us working full time, each specialising in one aspect. In addition to finding and liaising with clients, I focus on sculpting, Floriana on embroidery and Gemma on patterns.
