The mirror represents the sun in a pastel sfumato, and is created from gold, glass, stones, minerals and precious metals. “Working with these materials opens up a world of possibilities, from ancient Greco-Roman and Byzantine hand-cutting techniques to contemporary and futuristic ones. A hidden treasure lies nestled among the tesserae and rays, the guardian of an eternal treasure. For me, it embodies the mystery of Venice,” she says.
