Bruce Foster’s enchanting paper pop-ups are a well orchestrated fusion of his imagination, curiosity, interests, talents and skills. As a child, he enjoyed sci-fi and fantasy genres. In high school, he learned to infer 3D forms from just two sides, and pursued fine arts and graphic design in college. “One day, I was asked to create a pop-up. I found the idea of combining always-flat graphic design with sculptural forms very exciting,” Bruce recalls. He learned the craft by reverse engineering existing pop-ups and ongoing experimentation. "I eventually earned a reputation as a 'paper magic master'," he says. Bruce has published over 70 pop-up books, including the pop-up elements in Disney's Enchanted. “Solving the puzzle of 'how do I get this magic to happen?' is my favourite part of the process," he explains.
