ÁBBATTE is a textile studio devoted to the creation of handcrafted objects made from the finest natural fibres and dyes. The atelier's work grows directly out of the material itself, guided by a deep respect for slow processes, technical knowledge and the essential beauty of textiles. Each piece is woven individually on hand looms by local artisans in Segovia, following near-forgotten rhythms and attending carefully to every detail. The project is shaped by a dual intention: to create enduring objects that bring dignity to everyday life, and to recover the symbolic, cultural and aesthetic value of textiles.
ÁBBATTE organises seminars, courses and gatherings centred on weaving, colour and fashion, grounded in the belief that only what is truly understood can be genuinely valued. The Cistercian monastery of Santa María de la Sierra, carefully restored stone by stone, is today the heart and emblem of the atelier. It is a place that embodies ÁBBATTE’s values of permanence, mastery and deep connection to the land. The studio’s creations invite calm, attentiveness and an appreciation of subtleties. Each piece is made to endure, change over time and to accompany the lives of those who live with them.
