The history of the atelier and manufacturer Torbjörn Tillander dates back to tsarist Russia when Alexander E. Tillander, the great-great-grandfather of Tina Tillander, the current manager, set up his manufacturing business in St. Petersburg in 1860. Supplying goods to the family of Tsar Nikolai II, among others, the atelier became a success. It was the Revolution of 1917 that forced the family to relocate to their home country, Finland. Today, the work continues in advanced production facilities in the centre of Helsinki, where Tillander jewellery is designed and handmade from start to finish.
Atelier Torbjörn Tillander uses the best materials and buys stones only from trustworthy providers. The quality of its unique jewellery is recognised in exquisite colours and fine colour combinations. By appreciating both traditional methods and ambitious new skills, Tillander’s considered approach to goldsmithing continues to practise the Finnish tradition for the sixth generation.
