The fluid, wave-like carved wooden bowl presented at Homo Faber 2026 is titled Splash of Ambrosia. Andy started with fresh cut wet wood, removing the bark and drawing on the folded pattern before working with a chainsaw, hand and power carving tools to create the shape. The piece was air dried for four weeks to lower the moisture content, before being fully sanded and finished with shellac and wax. The top edges are painted to accent the flow of the shape and draw attention to the organic edges and dark inclusions, suggesting growth, impermanence and transformation.
