Marquetry without material boundaries

French artist Rose Saneuil specialises in multi-material marquetry, a technique she developed to combine elements such as wood, mother-of-pearl, leather, gold leaf and brass within intricate compositions. During the live demonstration at Homo Faber 2026, Rose will create a design by assembling and inlaying individually prepared pieces. Drawings, research, raw materials and a finished work will illustrate all of the stages behind the crafting process.
